Commissioned by Kim Jong-Il from the early 1970s, these specifically manufactured ‘North Korean Constellation’ or ‘Kim Il-Sung’ pieces were exclusively gifted to high-ranking foreign and esteemed senior officials, including heads of state, senior diplomats and note-worthy military members, on the date of Kim Il-Sung’s birth.

Of these already rare and exclusive pieces, there are fewer still that have surfaced in the market with the Constellation star emblem marked at 6 o’clock, which is speculated to have been reserved for those of higher rank. Featuring the classic hallmarks of the vintage 168.029 – the signed crown, stamped bracelet, C-shaped case, and the Geneva Observatory medallion on the caseback – this specimen is a testament to DPRK’s roots, with Kim Il-Sung’s signature emblazoned on the dial in sleek red, complimented by the unique Korean day disc.

An extremely rare example of one of the very few Kim Il-Sung signed timepieces that have made their way out of the DPRK, this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase this fascinating piece of modern history.
